- Description
- This project is related to the design of a new generation of linearization integrated circuits (IC) to power up the radio-frequency (RF) power amplifier for wireless local-area-network (WLAN) applications. Due to the slow transient response time of the DC-DC converter embedded in the existing linearization ICs, the current linearization ICs have limited applications. The newly developed linearization IC in this project is not only able to operate with the wireless signal at higher frequency up to 4 MHz for Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) applications, but it can also provide a higher efficiency such that it can extend the turn-on time of the portable wireless electronic devices. Several analog circuit design techniques have also been developed which can reduce the chip area of this linearization IC in order to reduce the cost of making this IC.
