The HKUST IC Design Center (ICDC) Summer Camp titled "AIoT Inspired IC Design" was successfully held during Aug 9 - 10, 2019.
First Dean of Engineering, Prof. Tim Kwang-Ting Cheng, addressed the opening remarks, followed by Dean of ICDC, Prof. Philip K. T. Mok. After that Prof. Patrick Yue gave a brief introduction and orientation of this summer camp.
In the morning, Prof. Hao Yu from SUSTech and Prof. Nan Sun from UT Dallas gave talks on the summer camp. In the afternoon, Prof. Makoto Ikeda from University of Tokyo, Prof. Yan Lu from University of Macau, Prof. Zhao Zhang from Hiroshima University and Mr. Russell Lee from Mentor Graphics gave talks on the summer camp.
On Aug. 10, in the morning CEO of Zeegle Mr. Jeremy Chau, Mr. Wei Wang from Moffett AI and Prof. Jri Lee from NTU gave talks on the summer camp. Dr. Simon Law and Prof. Patrick Yue from HKUST, and Mr. Dick Wei from PYJ-Dynasty Venture Fund joined later for panel discussion.
Finally Prof. Patrick Yue gave closing remarks to the summer camp. In the afternoon, lab tours and sports activities are organized.

The Inaugural HKUST IC Design Center (ICDC) Symposium titled "Energy-Efficient ICs for AI-Driven Applications" was successfully held on Jun 14, 2018.
First Director of ICDC, Prof. Philip K. T. Mok, addressed the opening remarks. And Dean of Engineering School, Prof. Tim Kwang-Ting Cheng, addressed the welcome remarks.
In the morning Prof. Meng-Fan (Marvin) Chang from NTHU, Prof. Vivienne Sze from MIT, Prof. Hao Yu from SUSTech and Prof. Elvis (Pui-In) Mak from UMAC gave talks on the symposium. In the afternoon Prof. Luca Daniel from MIT, and Prof. Howard Luong, Prof. Wing-Hung Ki and Prof. Jiang Xu from HKUST also gave talks to the audience.
Finally the invited speakers and audience took a visit to the ICDC laboratory for research project demonstration. The symposium was successfully concluded after the visit.

Ying Khai Teh won the Best Student Paper Award at the IEEE 57th International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (MWSCAS) held at College Station, Texas, USA, Aug 3-6, 2014. Congratulations to him!
The paper is titled "A Bipolar Output Voltage Pulse Transformer Boost Converter with Charge Pump Assisted Shunt Regulator for Thermoelectric Energy Harvesting". His supervisor is Prof. Philip K. T. Mok.
Winners were selected by a panel of judges who based their decisions on both the written papers and the presentations. This year, there are two co-winners. The other winner is from Texas A&M University.

Yuan Gao and Junmin Jiang won 1st and 2nd place, in the first stage of the Ninth AMO Hong Kong Division (Annual Synopsys International Microelectronics Olympiad Contest), respectively. Congratulations to both of them!
Yuan Gao, as the top-scoring competitor in Hong Kong Division this year, will attend the second, and final stage of AMO held in Armenia in Oct 2014.
